Thing is, SKSE was created for the 32 bit Skyrim, and Skyrim Special Edition is 64 bit, meaning the current version of SKSE won’t work with the Special Edition. Skyrim SE versions of SkyUI and Skyrim Script Extender are in the works. The SKSE scripts are required by all users of SKSE, but by default the installer dumps them into the skyrim/data/scripts folder as loose files.
